The Winter Blues

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" Philippians 4:6

I'm ready for summer!  The past couple of weeks have been rough on me, emotionally.  I love the sunshine and I can't stand being cooped up in the house all the time.  There was plenty of snow last week, then I got sick and Baby C had a fever for 3 days.  So we have been stuck in the house.
You know you have the winter blues and cabin fever when you are pumped to take your baby to the grocery store.  And I hate grocery shopping.  The only thing I needed was milk for Baby C, but I found myself pushing the cart down many of the isles very slowly, just to be out of the house.  I'm really looking forward to getting out more next week.  I sure hope there is no snow in store.

What do you do to lift your mood when you have the winter blues or cabin fever?

  1. Ah, honey :( Have you lived in a snowy area before this? I've been in MN/WI pretty much my whole life, and for at least a few days every year I too find myself needing to get out during the dull, chilly weeks, even if it's a looong stroll around Wal-mart when all I need is milk. (: I hope it warms up for you soon! xo

    1. Jenny, we lived in Littleton a couple of years ago, before we had Baby C. But I was born and raised in Florida. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way at times. It's even harder when you have a baby. My life now revolves around her. I hope it warms up too!

  2. I have never had the opportunity to live in a snowy region and unfortunately I have never experienced Cabin Fever. The worst example I can think of was when there was really bad wind that managed to knock out power in the Los Angeles area for four days. It happened last December and when 5 o clock rolled around it was pretty much time for bed, even some stores where closed.
