Once we found out Baby C would be a girl, it made it a little bit easier to narrow it down. I made a list of names that I loved, but most of them, my husband and I didn't agree on or we both sort of liked. Baby C's name came from her daddy. Though most people spell it with a K, I wanted her's to begin with C. And it fits her perfectly.
Because our sweet tiny blessing was born in December, the month of Christmas, her middle name came from the mother of Jesus. Her middle name was chosen by me, with her daddy's approval, of course.
How did you choose your child(ren)'s name?

What a little cutie! Thanks so much for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shannon! You're welcome! Thanks for the link-up, it's fun!
DeleteCute photos! We wrote names on post it notes and stuck them to our bedroom wall. Eventually, some names just got less appealing. But when we got to the hospital, we still weren't sure and said, "OK, let's see what the baby looks like and then decide." No decision til discharge day. I love the name.
ReplyDeleteI named Benjy so he could be Ben when he got older, my mother named Jason because it rymed with her maiden name Mason, your name dad and I agreed to be Amanda so we could call you Mandi ( such a sweet name for a sweet little girl.
DeleteLisa, I love that you waited until you saw what J looked like before naming him. We were thinking of doing the same.
DeleteMom, you picked the perfect names. :) I didn't know Jay's name came from Grammie's maiden name.
Aw, your mom replied!
DeleteE1's name was a boy name that I had always liked as a young girl. Our first was a surprise, so we also had a girl name picked out. So when we found out we were having twin girls, we used the girl name we had picked for the first pregnancy and then picked another girl name that would work well with it. By the time E4 came along, we already had 3 E's in the house, so decided to stick with E names and find one that we liked and went well with the 3 names we already had in our family!
ReplyDeleteI love that you kept the E tradition. So cool!
DeleteWhat a beautiful baby!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandy!
DeleteSo, this may sound a little crazy but I prayed over the names. My son's was fairly easy. Ephraim was the name of a character my husband and I both liked and we prayed on it and we knew it was perfect.
ReplyDeleteLuella was so much harder. I was so stressed about it and a really wise woman told me that her name was already in the Book of Life and to just pray and ask God to reveal it to me. Not joking, I was driving in the car and talking to my husbands grandmother and I felt God tell me to ask her middle name. She said, "oh, I hate it. It's Lou Ella." I literally saw gold writing on my windsheild and knew in that minute it was her name.
Newest baby....well, we are still discussing but God has Ezra on my heart.
I don't think that's crazy at all! In fact, that is the most perfect way to choose a name! Beautiful!
DeleteWe picked names we liked and their meanings. H's means shining light. We chose Grace as her middle name because it was through the grace of God that I had her. N's means gift from God, his middle name is John, named after my dad. -Eva
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome idea, Eva. I love names that have meanings behind them.
DeleteBoth Hayley and Zane were picked because we needed to use their first letters- that is what we do in our religion. I have always loved those two names though!
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool, Melissa! I didn't know that about the Jewish faith. Thanks for sharing!
