The Best Thing I Ever Had To Wait For . . .

There are so many blessings I have received in my life and they all came from waiting patiently (or maybe not so patiently) on God's timing.  One being waiting for my husband.  I had to go through a couple of heart breaks before I found the man that is perfect for me.  I'm glad for the lessons I learned along the way and thankful for who God has given me and the family that comes with him.

Another blessing that I had to wait for, was my husband returning home safely from Iraq.  Our first year of marriage was basically an Internet marriage, thousands of miles apart.  That was the longest year of my life.   Just trying to fill my days with family, friends and support as I waited for that day to hug him tight at the airport.

Without my husband and all that he has done for our family, I wouldn't have the best thing I ever had to wait for . . . our daughter.  I never knew what unconditional love was, until I held her in my arms.  I then understood what my own mom felt when she held her babies for the first time. My daughter, Baby C, is definitely my little hero, my strength and the best thing I ever had to wait for!

True to herself and goofy personality, Baby C waves to me with her foot!

What is the best thing you ever had to wait for?

  1. I had no idea your hubs was off on duty your first year of marriage. The first year is so critical in your growth as a family, so I'm so glad God kept you both close and together. LOL on Baby C waving with her foot. Hahahah! Those 3D sonograms are awesome. I never had one.

    1. Yes, since my husband was overseas (and I was pregnant), he never got to go to the ultrasounds with me. So when he came home, we made it a point to do the 3D so he could see it live. :) Will you get one with this pregnancy?

  2. I had no idea that your husband was in the military and away for C first year. You are a real inspiration being able to survie that first year! Haha- love that photo too!

    1. Baby C was actually in my belly. But it was still a really tough year. Thanks Melissa!

  3. God has the perfect plan for our lives... I'm sure it deepened your bond together even more tho you were "apart" that first year. I love that foot wave of Baby C. haha. 3D sonograms are so amazing. I have one of H&N.
I would have to say my kids are the best thing I ever had to wait for... unconditional love, no words to describe.

  4. For me, it's definitely this pregnancy/baby. My daughter was a complete surprise but this baby was very much anticipated and prayed for.
